Dick advocated for us. He always put our concerns and needs front and center in our discussions, and he gave us great advice to help us navigate a stressfull chapter in our lives. He helped us find the perfect home in Ypsilanti...it would not have happened without having him at our side. And, he also guided us as we sold our former home (in a nearby community) to make everything fall into place. You really should speak with Dick before deciding on your realtor.

And you don't have to twist his arm to get it - his responsiveness and willingness to spend time with his clients makes him incredibly easy to do business with. My husband and I met Dick at an open house, and we knew right off the bat that he was our guy. His affability, sense of humor, and instantly recognizable competence stood out far beyond what we'd experienced during meetings with other Realtors. As we started working with him, we found his intimate knowledge of the area, extensive base of local connections, and no-nonsense approach came in very handy. Along the way, we encountered more than our share of bumps in the road, including a horrible appraisal, multiple delays, and inflexibility from other parties involved. But through it all, Dick fought for us tooth and nail. We were able to close on our first (and perfect!) home, and I'm not sure if we would have made it work with someone else representing us. I just can’t say enough good things about my experience with Dick Mattie. Not only is he exceptionally good at what he does, Dick is a wonderful, warm person and responded quickly to any situation that came up.

Two years ago, we had a terrible experience with another local realtor. She was not transparent, knowledgable, or friendly. At that time, we decided to pull our house off the market and wait for a more opportune time. Dick Mattie was recommended to us by a friend and, judging by the many homes being sold in our area with his name on the sign, we figured we would take a shot. Dick was amazing! From our very first meeting, he made us feel comfortable and at ease. After a 45 minute meeting, we had an estimated sell price based on his in depth knowledge of appraisals, home values, and local knowledge. We also had an estimated profit on the sale which ended up being almost exactly what we walked away with. We sold our house after 6 days on the market at asking price! He worked well with the other realtor and it was a smooth closing. At every step of the process, he was there by phone or would swing by our house to answer questions, make us laugh, and calm our nerves. We also ended up using one of Dick Mattie's team members, Scott Bethune, to represent us with buying our new house. That also was a terrific experience. Dick and his team's transparency and knowledge helped us make educated decisions and we are now happy new home owners!
